Pricing, answered
Is scanning a certificate free?
Yes, always, for everyone. Anyone can scan a certificate’s QR code or open its link to see the story page and check that it is genuine. They don’t need an account, an app or a plan. Scanning, verification and sharing are free on every plan, including Free.
Can I really stay on Free for as long as I like?
Yes. Free has no time limit and needs no credit card. Make as many single certificates as you like, issue up to 25 names a month from Excel, and every certificate gets its QR story page. Upgrade only when you want premium templates, your own brand or bigger batches.
What is the “Made with Certale” credit?
Certificates made on Free carry a small “Made with Certale” line and link, on the certificate and on its story page. It is a single quiet line, never a mark across your design. Pro and Business remove it.
How does yearly billing work?
Pay for a year up front and get 2 months free. Pro is $90 a year, which works out at $7.50 a month. Business is $190 a year, about $15.83 a month. Free stays $0 forever.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Upgrade, downgrade or switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from your account settings. Changes take effect straight away, and the price is adjusted for the time left: moving up charges the difference, moving down gives you a credit towards your next invoices. Certificates you have already issued stay live and verifiable.
What counts as a certificate?
One certificate issued to one person. Editing a design, previewing it, and downloading or re-sending a certificate you have already issued do not count. Issuing the same design to a new name does.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
Single certificates are unlimited on every plan. The monthly limit is for bulk issuing from Excel: 25 names on Free, 300 on Pro and 1,000 on Business, and we email you before you get close. Nothing you have already issued is affected: you can wait for your allowance to reset next month, or talk to us about a higher limit or more seats.
Can I get a refund?
You can cancel at any time, and your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for; we don’t refund a period that has already started. If you change your mind soon after subscribing, write to us and we will look at a refund. Our terms of service have the details.
Do you offer discounts for education and non-profits?
Schools, universities, charities and registered non-profits can ask us for a discount on Pro and Business. Write to us from your organisation’s email address and we will tell you what we can offer.
